Yup, these media properties weren’t predicting the future they were satirizing their present and problems unaddressed eventually progressed to the point of satire

There are some episodes of TV that really transcend the show they’re on and that was definitely one of them.
Not to saw scrubs wasn’t a great show, it was, but that episode stood out on another level

You can eat the right quality of beef raw assuming it has been handled well. That’s absolutely not the case for 99.9% of beef but in this case that wagyu is probably fine. Would be nice to give it a bit of a seer for flavor tho

The White Lotus is a show about power dynamics and exploitation. The identity and feelings and actions of characters inside those dynamics are what make the show interesting.
Season one was about money, season two was about sex.
Similar to season one no really breaks out of their hierarchy or undoes the cycle. It’s more about what everyone learns about themselves

Nostalgia comes in waves typically a 30 year cycle, it used to be super cool to hate on the 80s as embarrassing and outdated, then the 80s became the “classics” era and if you disliked the big 80s hits you were being uncultured for not head banging to Bohemian Rhapsody, now the 90s are having a nostalgic classical moment (with the early 2000s hot on their heals) and I imagine as a result the popularity of defending like Warrent’s Cherry Pie has lessened

Glee was so perfect a target for satire because I’m 90% it started as a satire before becoming so popular they decided to just do it unironically. The pilot is almost a different show and is just wild

I mean I imagine the concern what they didn’t want to be seen as another Cuba or Viet Nam and hoped a nationalist religious face would prevent Cold War politics from provoking an invasion. Of course that may have been one of the worst mistakes they could have made

The sad thing is the revolution wasn’t one solely based of religious extremists but had a well rounded angry population.
The unfortunate thing was they were scared of international backlash and looked to India for a model. India put the hyper religious Ghandi as the leader of the revolution and received global respect. There was some thought that instead of being seen as a communist revolution they could put the religious radicals in charge as figure heads to get global recognition and national unity. Unfortunately that was letting the wolves into the hen house

Training Ukrainian units is a burden on the Ukrainians. Producing Soviet era weaponry would be a burden on NATO, who is not at war and therefore can more easily take on such a burden. Is probably the thinking

The colors are the company colors and I can’t understate how strong their branding is. If you go to school for accounting they bombard you with their recruiting/marketing constantly. To the point where they explicitly will sponsor professors at some schools.

I just feel like SNL has a specific “brand” of humor and admittedly it’s migrated over the generations but sometimes it will add a talent that doesn’t fit that brand but is still incredibly talented.

You think it’s impossible to imagine a major corporation has its value destroyed due to their own illegal action except in cases when it happened in which case well that was an illegal action that’s different from THIS illegal action which will be a slap on the wrist

Her and Kyle Moone definitely suffered from SNL not being able to use their talents effectively. She was incredibly funny and it felt like they had do idea what to do with her.
