SEGA made an April Fool's game (without Sonic Team), it's actually a solid game, the joke is the marketing - minor spoilesr: >!It's Amy's birthday and a murder mystery event is held on a special train, you (a newly hired employee) work with Tails to solve the mystery. The mystery is great fun to solve, but something makes it seem like this isn't just a game...!<

I actually really enjoyed the 2 hours of gameplay.

The game is actually pretty good for a 2 hour long April Fool's joke, the only thing that's really obviously April Fool's is the marketing and bonus end-scene.

I just finished the game, this is legit a great game with a surprisingly emotional story; standards have been raised for April Fool's jokes.

Sega released a free game on Steam called "The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog" in which Sonic is murdered and you must solve the mystery.

There are also games that are just really short that need to be considered, a lot of small, cheap, indie games can easily be beaten in under 5 hours.

Pretty much stupid ways to bump up the difficulty of a game; instead of unique enemies/behavior on high difficulties, for example, it's just "bad guy hit hard, more health."
