I played everything you could on ps4 over the course of about 2 years recently (a couple missed games because missing hardware) and I couldn't really tell you what it was truly about. I'm not sure the devs know.

I'd say this works in reverse as well. I played and enjoyed gotham knights and saints row last year, but you couldn't talk about either of them here without 90% of the community telling you they are trash and you giving these companies money is part of the problem. People are allowed to like what they like for their own reasons. Humans really really like to portray themselves as individual thinkers but are so quick to fall into hive mind tendencies. Fascinating until it's dangerous.

But there's a giant gap between every side quest being meaningful and what AC does in Valhalla.

I mean objectively you can say any EA sports game because it's just repackaged slop.

Probably followed by cod for the same crime.

In the Rpg world it should go to assassins creed. The amount of content that means absolutely nothing to the overall narrative is staggering. Valhalla is especially guilty of this.

LA noire is an under rated Rockstar game imo. It's a bit dated but it's good.

Play mass effect. The definitive edition. It scratches both the narrative and 3rd person shooter itch and is widely considered a masterpiece. It's relatively easy to pick up as it plays like an old school cover shooter (take cover, pop up and shoot)
