I would imagine anyone who saw this would understand both why it was done and that it’s temporary. So not exactly a big issue. Of course I say that as someone who has the same at home, except mine is a chain link.

Replacing the toilet yourself is likely to be cheaper than having a plumber even just come out for a service call.

I mean, the same can happen with Tylenol.

I always recommend that people grab an umbrella when it’s pouring and just stand outside and watch where the water collects and puddles. Get rid of that with downspouts and landscaping and it’s likely you’ll get rid of the basement water too.
