…and another ex marine who later went on to become some sort of Dean of Discipline there. Violence/physical intervention was never more than a moment away with that one.

I went there in the 80’s and 90’s. There was active abuse during my entire four years. Occasionally I get a letter from some sort of law office disclosing more/owning up to some of what went on.
There are many skeletons in their history. I don’t know what they are like today.

Fascinating. During my time there, I’m not sure about priests….but there were many brothers (monks?) of the Xaverian order living in a building connected to the school. There was a small chapel there too. There were many more living there than who taught. Do they no longer live on prem?

It’s incredibly sad. Part of my sometimes painful journey into adulthood has also been coming to terms with childhood (emotional) abuse/neglect…and part of that has been a growing awareness of how disgustingly common it is.
Tangentially related: The Body Keeps the Score has been a useful resource (book) for me. Might be worth checking out if you haven’t explored it yet.

I hear Indiana is one of the few locations on CONUS that could start to scale steel production and replace some of the import load. Do you have any read on that?
