Reply to [OC] North American cities by number of major sports championships (Updated December 2022) by twintig5
Charts like these need a time limit. 3 championships in the last 3 years and 3 championships between 1930 and 1950 when there were like 5 teams in the league and the sport was unrecognizable are not really comparable.

It’s another way of saying “I am not used to this experience, but it is really good”. The phrase normally used when people try something beyond the level of luxury they are accustomed to for the first time (nice hotels, a fancy car, massage).

Not all that weird. They always manage to qualify because no one else in their region (North America) has historically cared about soccer. Once they are in the tournament they cannot match up with South American and European teams.

The map isn't trying to make a point about any county's size, and it is the one most people recognize.

Do you have this communication with the management company in writing? If not, start a text/email conversation with them, and once you have all the details of the situation captured in it (including them admitting to the original price, system lag etc.) file a chargeback.

Reply to ELI5 Why are airport ceiling so high? by TrShry
It isn't just airports. Any place that is designed for crowds and gets lots of foot traffic has such architecture. Think hotel lobbies, atriums, office building lobbies, big box retail stores, convention centers. It helps with air flow and makes the space feel more roomy.

Reply to Are typos supposed to be so common in books? Or am I just ending up getting poorly edited ones? by rabidpiano86
Typos happen, but they are definitely not common enough that you should be picking some out in every book you read.
It of course occurs a lot more with self published books.
Another cause could be a bad OCR scan for ebooks.

She would have been a perfect character if Oberyn's death was the last we saw of her.

I imagine the chart of what they charge patients would look the same with a few zeros added on to the end.

Berkshire Hathaway, S&P 500, VTI and most other broad market funds are all very tightly correlated, so this chart is really ARKK vs the overall stock market.

I'd like a cast of mostly unknowns, like the first two seasons.
