The demon stopped at the man's words. Usually it was used to mindlessly and instantly gaining control of a person, without any thought to their physique or personality. But this man was different.
He was older, maybe early fifties. Silver hair, grown to about his shoulders, messy but not ugly. He wore an older button down shirt. Pinstripes. He wore a pair of khakis, with one of the pantlegs rolled up a few inches. He looked around the room, clearly aware of the demon's presence but not its location. His movements were awkward. Every now and then a tremor rippled down his body, accompanied by a labored, shuddering breath.
He was sitting on the edge of a bed, in a dark room, perhaps an apartment. The back wall had a heap of rubble against it, including a desk that had been shattered into splinters and a television with a large crack running diagonally across it.
The spirit circled the man, slowly coming to a stop.
It had taken far more powerful victims than this.
With a hissing sound, it invaded the mind of the man.
And it discovered that it had sorely underestimated the madness inside.

Reply to [WP] The demon couldn't believe their luck to find such a willing victim to possess. However, instead of resisting like they usually do, this one said "Good luck. You'll need it." by pikay93
