It depends on the game, it could be probably be used to generate new items and stuff in a bare bone roguelike or other stuff that doesn't require much to run, it's obviously too soon for a full 3d game with generated text at the same time, but we'll get there. Also a private server is an idea

I really can't wait for alpaca to release, you can finally integrate it in games without the use of a server

Reply to Would you play a videogame with AI advanced enough that the NPCs truly felt fear and pain when shot at? Why or why not? by MultiverseOfSanity
only if i can avoid that they got hurt, i feel like it would be interesting to interact with agents with feelings, both physical and emotional, but I wouldn't enjoy seeing them getting hurt

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think that developing AI companion is the solution to loneliness and it has the potential to be very dangerous. But I agree, it does feel like they are being repurpoused a bit

Reply to Bing Chat blew ChatGPT out of the water on my bespoke "theory of mind" puzzle by Fit-Meet1359
I haven't tried that much, but bing seems much better, if anything you often have links as sources and you can fact check much much easily. It's much more updated too

Reply to Will ChatGPT be able to write better code than any human within the next year? by [deleted]
Doubt that, it's too soon one year. I do think it will get there and I don't think it will take that long, we are going to see major breakthroughs next year, but better than any human it's going to take a bit more

The problem with this is that you still have to gather a lot of data and do a lot of tuning, which takes time and resources, alpaca could be just a "plug and play" with the right prompts
