Is it the top that leaks?
Unfortunately, all of the ones we have started to leak (no matter what brand) after a year or more of constant use (either nature preschool or daily elementary school use). We just replace the tops and they are good to go for another couple years. My only issue is that I dislike the cheaper replacement top style.

Exactly. It’s funny what you reach for sometimes …
My 5” santoku gets used all the time by the spouse and the eldest kid. It’s an inexpensive one that I picked up at a department store when I lived in the UK, probably paid like £20 because I was a grad student. It has remarkable good steel and despite taking a hit on the tip, it’s perfect for smaller hands.

This is good advice … I’d expand on two parts (as someone with a medium-sized collection of knives) …
Definitely don’t buy a set … they will contact knives/accessories that you never use. That said, if you will use, don’t worry about buying a weird/unique knife (one of my most used knives is a small serrated tomato knife)
Buy what you like. If a more expensive knife will make you happy and you will pull it and cook more with it, buy it! Part of the fun of cooking is using the tools that you love ❤️

Pentagon City & Crystal City <= both are full of new apartments and older units. Tons of construction currently with plenty of new restaurants just opening.
I know these aren’t North Arlington but this part of town is changing quickly.

Don’t know why …
My guess is that they expanded way too fast and it caught up to them. Within a year of opening, they were quadrupling production and taking on large investments.
They aren’t the only DC alcoholic beverage producer to close up Shop … 3 Stars & Green Hat Gin are both shut.

You can double check the o-ring inside the top … they get shifted and then don’t seal fully. It’s an easy fix (just push them back in … I remove them completely, clean the track out, clean the ring, and reset it).
