If I were to just go to the Wine Source I would walk or bike (though they don’t have a bike rack!!!), but I just happen to only go when I’m on the way home from something else that I usually drive to. It’s definitely not, as other commenters said, because I’m buying cases of wine lol, I only go to pick up a discounted 6 pack. Though I have fit like 6 750 ML glass bottles in my bike paneers before, it’s not hard at all, they give you little sleeves on the bottles to stop them from clanging around.

Oh I wasn’t aware. What is happening to their current lot?
Interesting_Loan_425 t1_je1xiig wrote
As someone who drives to the wine source frequently on Friday and Saturday evenings… it’s not that bad? Like just wait 2 minutes and someone will pull out. If you build more parking, then it will just turn into the Total Wines lot in Towson. Cars are always going to fill the space allotted to them, this will not solve the problem of parking in the area, which isn’t even a problem. It SHOULD be hard to freely park your giant private vehicle in the middle of a busy neighborhood.

I was always curious about the street car that said “westmoreland” on it at the beginning. Did that used to be a stop in Baltimore and if not where is it? Is that streetcar from the museum on Jones Falls?

Reply to Bars with WiFi by ComprehensiveCut5248
Do you, genuinely not trying to make you feel bad about it, but honestly I hate when I see laptops in bars. I’m trying to relax and be as far from work as possible and now I’m next to some guy plugging away at an excel doc. I’d go get drunk in a wework if I wanted that.
That said, R House is a good bet, that place is already just an airport food court, a laptop certainly isn’t out of place.

Working at City Schools can be hell but, depending on the school, ECE is probably the best teaching position to be in if you have the energy to run around with kids all day. No state testing, no grading, no wit and wisdom BS. Best thing you can do is learn Spanish, there is a large demand for that in the schools in South and East Baltimore, especially in ECE where the kids have not been in an English language environment before.
For alternative certs, apply for TFA (if you put Baltimore as the only city in your top choice list, 90% chance you’ll get it), apply for Urban Teachers, and apply for BCTR. If you get TFA, go for that just for that for the resume builder. If you don’t get it (it’s competitive), then decide between Urban Teachers and BCTR. BCTR is less of a time commitment, Urban Teachers will leave you more prepared/ give you a year of student teaching to go “oh, nevermind, fuck this” before you commit to your own classroom.
Like everyone said, do not accept any offer until you speak with teachers at that school (and, ideally, not ones that the principal directed you to). Half the principals in this town are sadists.

It’s not just a good idea, it’s literally the law of the land that our city illegally refuses to implement.

You’re thinking of the chick fil a in Canton, OP is referring to the one in the inner harbor.

Maybe it’s me, but I’ll have to disagree with people here. I’m a little anxious but generally I’m pretty gregarious and I did very well socially in Chicago and New Orleans. I have had a devastatingly hard time finding friends here and it’s been very straining on my mental health and is making me consider moving back to my hometown. I joined Volo, I take a weekly language class, I’m in a book club, I have a cool job where I meet a lot of people, I go to the rock climbing gym the same time every week, I hang out at the same dive bar when I go out and try to be a regular. I’m doing all the things you’re supposed to do, and every time it seems like people are just friends with the same people they grew up with or they’re a Hopkins/TFA person and they’re just passing through.
Maybe this is just an easy coast thing and it’s easier to make friends in the south, but I really don’t feel like this is a friendly or welcoming city (in fact, it’s by a very long measure the rudest and least friendly place I’ve lived).
That said, there’s so much I like about it and I’m really trying to make it work, but I just can’t seem too.

Maybe you should live there then? Or, I don't know, get a real job instead of trying to live off other people's work.

Incredibly pedantic but:
Baijiu is not sold in cans in China, it’s sold in glass or porcelain bottles.

Roads are for feet, bikes, and buses, not cars. You're right, it's a public street, so limit it to public transit.

Great idea, literally just came into this sub to ask about Korea games. Anybody know a good spot or any org/Korean church that might be putting on events for it?

Not really. There is Fooboa in Catonsville, which is just general Chinese but specializes in steamed dishes. Orient Expressed in Charles Village also has some Cantonese dishes, but its definitely not a Cantonese restaurant. You'll need to travel to Rockville for the real deal.

We have cheap coffee and breakfast sandwiches too lol, this is still America. Why do New Yorkers think convenience stores and delis are some unique cultural heritage.

The only reasonable concern to tearing down buildings to put in parking lots, the thing that destroyed most American city centers and sent them back decades in development, is the new traffic pattern it might cause?
