2022 was quite disappointing, many movies I was excited about weren't that good...just solid or ok and a bit or pretty much disappointing, f.e.the MCU-Movies, JWD, FB 3, Death on the Nile, Hocus Pocus 2, Disenchanted.
And 2 movies I wasn't excited about were my favorites of the year, Bullet Train and TGM.
Hopefully 2023 will be better.

Reply to I blew my previous record out of the water and saw 89 newly released films in a cinema this year. How many did you see? by TheRealClose
Maybe 10-15.
Best experience was TGM, saw it twice.

10 - one of my favorite movies
9 - very good, exceptional in one ore more ways
8 - good (most movies I watch get this rating)
7 - solid, not bad but nothing I really liked either
6 - ok...nothing particularly good, not bad either, maybe a bit disappointing
5 - mediocre...some ok stuff but I overall didn't really like it
1-4 - I barely rate movies this low. It depends on how much the movie pisses me of I think.
I know that I rate the movies pretty soft but first of all I mostly only watch movies I think I will like and second I try to enjoy movies as much as I can because liking things is better than disliking things...

It's a bid sad because basically all movies I were excited for this year were a bit or pretty much disappointing. And then there was Bullet Train which I didn't care or was excited about but I watched it in theaters spontaneously and I loved it. Same with Top Gun Maverick.

I never made an official list because it's too hard, but some of my other all time favorite movies are Interstellar, WALLE, The Incredibles, HTTYD, Klaus and some of the Ghibli Movies.

Reply to What would you say is the best experience of a 2022 film you saw in theaters? by FutRaheem7
Easily Top Gun Maverick, especially easy because many movies I was excited about were disappointing more or less. And the thing is I wasn't even excited about Maverick, I just watched it because of the good reviews and Tom Cruise. I was totally surprised that I loved it. I watched it 2 times in theaters, I barely do that.
Second is Bullet Train, also a movie I watched spontaneously and wasn't excited about, but I enjoyed the hell out of it, more than Maverick, but all in all Maverick wins when it comes to the overall experience, this movie blew me away.
Yeah these are the only 2 sadly.

Fast 5 and Furious 7.
But if we only count movies where he's the main character then it's the 2017 Jumanji movie.
Oh and if we count cameos it's The Mummy Returns lol.

Mainly I'm checking the '2022 in film' site and Box Office Mojo and The Numbers.

It's a common thing, same with DCU. Blame the comic writers.

Yeah but mostly I'm waiting until the movie is over before checking him up. Don't want to get spoiled.
