Get your priorities in order and license your effin' car before you worry about anything else.

What are you paying $373 to Mutual of Omaha for? Please don't let it be whole life insurance.

How much do you owe Ashley furniture? What's the interest rate? If it's high interest it may make sense to pay more money on it.

And last, it's only 144$ a year, but you tube? They give that stuff away, why pay for it?

What makes your husband think he knows so much about your career options and earning potential? He works for a much larger organization, of course there is more money available for him and others in his profession.

You have found a unicorn job-a small business that pays well, treats you good and is flexible. If you decided to be a road dog, husband will have to pick up the slack with the kids.

Of course he should get those insurance options. He has a dangerous job, he will never get that kind of coverage from another vendor at that price. When I was in similar circumstances re dangerous work for the government and insurance offered I took it.

Look at the math- $2.12 x 26 pay periods is $55 for the year. That's pennies. He should look over the AD&D handout and if it seems reasonable double it, that's another $21.00 per year. Because of his dangerous job, he wouldn't be able to find that coverage for $76 a MONTH on the outside.

You and he might find this subreddit's wiki interesting, it is about a great variety of financial topics.
