I recently got summoned and also went back and forth with ejuror. I unexpectedly had an interview scheduled the same day and I emailed them back and forth a few times and they wouldn’t give in. I just ended up skipping it and expecting to be called in again but haven’t heard anything. I was really bummed because under any other circumstances I would’ve loved to go.

Teacher pay scales also heavily depend on getting those extra degrees. In order to maximize potential pay and get a bigger pay band you have to keep going back to school. Most students don’t realize their teachers in suburban schools have at minimum one masters degree but some of my coworkers have 2 or 3 or even doctorates.

As the previous commenter said, with most public schools you shouldn’t have an issue. If you’re looking at Philly, there are some application deadlines if you want a school you’re not in the catchment area of (it’s already passed). And if you’re looking at Charter or Private school, you’ll need to look at that individual school’s policy.

Drives me absolutely bonkers someone can claim to know what’s best for my state and people coming from Jersey. Y’all are right across the state line, if you liked it here that much you’d actually move over here.

This is one of the reasons why I recently left my job in Philly. That city tax bothered me to no end and claiming I have to pay a tax for the privilege of working in the city. Yeah I’ll just get a job closer to home without the headache.
