Reply to Canadian universities have been conducting joint research with Chinese military scientists for years by No-Drawing-6975
Canadian company Nortel used to be a major manufacturer in telecommunications equipment until their downfall in the early 2000's with allegation's of corporate espionage coupled with being hacked.
A former security advisor had this to say about the events that happend:
> Shields alleged that the hacking may have benefited Chinese competitors such as Huawei. While unable to offer conclusive proof Shields stated that "When 2000 came along, then it was a downward slide. And that coincidentally is the year when Huawei started selling on the international market. How coincidental." - Nortel Wikipedia
20 years later the Government of Canada turned down a major deal for a 5G network built by Huawei due to national security concerns.

Fun fact Weird Al still liceneses music from the orginal artists
> Al does get permission from the original writers of the songs that he parodies. While the law supports his ability to parody without permission, he feels it’s important to maintain the relationships that he’s built with artists and writers over the years. Plus, Al wants to make sure that he gets his songwriter credit (as writer of new lyrics) as well as his rightful share of the royalties. - Weird Al's site
The reason is because of "Write a word, Get a third" where if you write or change a lyric in a song you are entitled to a 1/3rd of the royalties.

Reply to comment by Xaxafrad in TIL that antimatter is made with antiprotons, which are the opposite of protons, with a negative charge, antineutrons with a neutral charge and positrons, which are the opposite of electrons, with a positive charge. by Doomguy2021
Current production rate is like 10 nanograms per 20 years.
The problem is storing it though since all of that antimatter was annihilated after it was produced.

Reply to TIL that the Eiffel Tower was due to be dismantled, in 1910, but survived as it could (and still is) used as a giant radio antenna to transmit and receive radio broadcasts. by greyhound_dreams
LPT: If you live in an older apartment or large building and have trouble receiving radio signals, try plugging the antenna into a coaxial cable or another outlet that isn’t for power. This will allow the coaxial cable to act as a large antenna for your building.
