Many technologies are ethically neutral. The effect they have on society is dependent on how they’re implemented. That so many technologies have been implemented in ways that degrade our quality of life speaks volumes about who our society empowers.

You’d be smart to have that checked out by a medical professional. That’s a tough spot: anything that close to the eye is concerning. You could have an orbital fracture in there, given how swollen it is and how fast it swelled up. Given that it could affect the health of your eye, I’d strongly suggest erring on the side of caution.

As someone who grew up in the DC region and has lived in NYC, I can empathize. There’s a reason so many people in the DC area flee to the suburbs. If the suburban lifestyle doesn’t appeal to you, it can be very hard to be live decently in the city proper without having/spending insane amounts of money.
