I never understood the people who use the “these criminals don’t live here” response when crime happens in their neighborhood.

Who cares where they live? If you are getting robbed would you feel better if your neighbor was doing it? The red flag is where the crime is happening not where the criminal goes home to rest his head

It seems like you are really saying that you don’t want outsiders in your neighborhood which is a very privileged way of thinking. Maybe build a wall around squirrel hill?

That’s fair enough, I shouldn’t critique a place I’ve never been. I was generalizing it due to the area.

I know HH uses some of Maggie’s rums and liquors. If I’m not mistaken Maggies make some that are very hard to find in PA.

As I mentioned I’m no expert on it and I’m not even much of a drinker. I sort of dabble in the subculture and am still learning much about it. You may very well be more knowledgeable than I am on the topic.

Real tiki bars use very specific and uncommon liquors in their drinks. I’ve never been to Tiki Bar and I have a very basic understanding of tiki sub-culture but I’ve never heard it mentioned in any discussion about tiki bars. Hidden Harbor is nationally known and people come from out of state (like OP) for the sole purpose of going there

You generally aren’t going to find shit faced college kids doing shots at a “real” tiki bar either. It’s a pretty classy crowd.
