Basically the answer is no at according to these comments, at least not as truly stand alone state holidays. Fastnacht is still Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, a different celebration but for the same reason and on the same day. Groundhog Day is celebrated in elementary schools nationwide and a whole blockbuster movie exists based on it. First day of hunting season is, as mentioned, a day off school in many other rural locations. Flag Day is a federal holiday, as are all the holidays listed on the state website as state holidays.

Yeah that's the one I never understood. As a non-car-mechanic-person it always felt stupid that turning on the wipers doesn't also trigger the lights.

Mine is set to auto as well but they only turn on when the car registers that it's dark enough. So I often have to turn them on manually when it's raining during the day.

My husband and I get charged two local taxes a year! Different ones at different times!
