It’s malware piggybacking on a website. It’ll freeze the screen, purport to be Apple or Microsoft and prompt you to call. The same thing happens by e-mail of course. Proper response so far is to shut the computer down and reboot. It doesn’t appear to install or be persistent.

Reply to Replacing ugly under-cabinet light above kitchen sink with a regular light fixture. by postscriptum114
Looks like a 110v fixture/feed. Test that w a meter. I’d put a plastic junction box on it and go from there. If ALL of the succeeding conduit can be seen/accessed you can use plastic/metal conduit w romex in it switch leg/feed respectively. Depending on local code. Some won’t allow romex and demand non-cable wire. If you end up needing to bury it code probably calls for metal/armored conduit.

Reply to Used mastic to repair holes in front steps, eternally sticky and causing a mess now by RoarBacon
Fast and dirty, meaning that I wouldn’t do it for a client or try to get paid for it - get a sheet of 3/4 cdx - cut out pieces that match the stairs - screw it together and drop it on top. Secure w expansion bolts. It’ll last a couple of years. Wouldn't try with more than 3 steps.

I built an exhaust table to be able to airbrush with toxic paints. Mounted two 400 cfm fans under the table and vented through the wall. I went with Tjernlund fans after I saw a demo on you tube. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005XNNYMU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The fans are currently $90 each on Amazon. They are 6” inline duct fans, vented independently out the wall. More bang for your buck w an 8” 460 cfm at $85 or a 10” 870 cfm for $156. Like people said you’ll need a fresh air intake too.

Pretty much everybody but the Minoans were “foreign barbarians.” Wonderful lecture series by Bob Brier at the learning company/the great courses. Charles Pelligrino also did a great look at the ancient world and Thera/Minoan civilization in “Return to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Yeah different hinges is the answer. You’ll get a slightly different face frame reveal but after a week you’ll never see it again.

Sadly this wasn’t a catch. The nice client allowed remote access to his system to the scammers. He balked when asked for $400 tech fees but there wasn’t anyway to tell if his data had been copied - this included password lists (another lecture) and social security numbers off tax returns that were digitised. Thus the scramble to change account numbers, passwords and freeze credit reports. Never call anyone when prompted by computer, never trust a contact link sent by email - use Google to find contact numbers and remember, NO ONE will send you a link asking you to directly login to an account.
