Just wished I'd known about it before I drove over there on a Saturday to go to a store that's in that neighborhood. Couldn't find a parking place, ended up coming home. Oh well, I'm wiser now, hope folks had fun. (I'm new in town by the way, that's why I didn't know about it.)

I've been here since mid-October, so 4 months. My favorite thing is the James River specifically and just how pretty it is outside in general. With winter nearing the end and spring on the horizon I know there will be lots to do outdoors. It's pretty here.

I'm thinking about coming to see Maine in mid-March. Looking for advice on my timing. Am I picking a bad time to come? I'm thinking in terms of weather/road conditions. I've never been to Maine and am itching to get up there, but I'm hesitant about coming when the weather is brutal. I have no experience driving on icy roads and don't wanna come at the wrong time. Probably wanna go to Portland first and then take it from there. Should I wait?

Following this thread because I'm new to town and waiting for my first appointment (in about a month). The best doctor I ever had (in my previous town) went to Concierge Care and I lost him as a result. I didn't wanna pay the extra $2 grand a year (on top of insurance). I'm going to see how my visit goes in a month and from there I'll decide if I wanna explore Concierge. Anyone have any experience being on Medicaid here? When I went through the marketplace, I was put on Medicaid. I think it's because I'm not working. They asked what my expected income was for 2023, and it ain't much, because I'm sitting on money and don't need to work right now. I can afford medical care......I just don't have a job. I'm hoping that my care doesn't suffer because they put me on Medicaid. If I don't like it or think I'm getting substandard care then I'll just go the Concierge route or go back to the city I came from maybe. Anyway, I'd love to hear about anyone's experience being on Anthem Healthkeepers Plus Virginia medicaid, and if they get a level of care that's acceptable.

Champagne actually does pair well with fried chicken. And really.....it pairs well with a lot of food. It's customarily been used for toasting celebratory events and as an aperitif, but it's actually good during dinner a lot of the time. It's also good out of a normal Riedel wine glass, skip the flute.

Well I was a New Orleans bartender for 20 years and I'm in the process of moving to Maine. I've made it as far as Virginia right now. So maybe I'll be a Maine bartender 2 years from now and someone from New Orleans can walk in and we can have a similar conversation about New Orleans.
