Cedar Street Grille in Sturbridge has a nice brunch on Sundays. Once you are out that way you have a few small breweries nearby (Altruist, Oakholm, Rapscallion) and of course Treehouse is one town over in Charlton. Plus, plenty of antique shops in the vicinity for her.

Have to agree that OP's pricing sounds high. We pay just under $400/month for two people through Blue Cross Blue Shields PPO plan. Add in dental coverage and we are at about $430/month.
