It doesn’t really take anything special. If you have eyes and something to write with you can keep track of where the sun rises every day.

Apparently one of the biggest issues is that it would be hard to determine the person/people who would actually go up and get the award.

It’s still ridiculous that the Oscars don’t have stunt categories.

Huh. This is such a simple concept that I’m sort of surprised nobody ever thought of it before

Haha, I recently left Instagram, but I posted a picture of my adventures every day in May for the last 9 years. I figure I’ll do it one more time to round out a decade of 30x30.

I started working on a novella years ago (but abandoned it) that had something similar. It was the distant future and humanity had colonized a dozen other worlds, so Earth was essentially turned into a giant nature preserve to allow the planet to heal. It was illegal for any human to land on the surface.

The David Suzuki Foundation started a fun thing in 2012 called “30x30”. It was to encourage people to spend at least 30 minutes in nature every day for 30 days in May. I might be the only one still officially doing it, but I have done it every year since.

When they were the only game in town, they weren’t as worried about losing eyeballs. Now that everyone has a steaming service, Netflix seems to have moved into a quantity-over-quality approach. They are desperate to have something for everyone, so that you never leave the platform.

Netflix really needs to stop relying so heavily on the algorithm. They need to hire very experienced and knowledgeable tv professionals to determine what should be canceled and what should be renewed. Right now they really almost entirely on numbers.
