I lost mine last summer, I did the expedited replacement and I think I got it back in about 6 weeks from sending in the forms at the post office. If you're under 8 weeks out I'd consider going to the DC passport office to get it same day if you can't find it, it's a pain for sure.

Was thinking of giving my fiance a staycation at the Jefferson for a couple of nights in January... anyone done that? Have never stayed there, is it worth it or is there another hotel I should look at? She loves fancy hotels and likes the idea of getting away from the pets and the mess for a weekend.

>i really want to, i believe that it would make me feel so much better. but right now i have to choose between financial stability and my mental well-being.. itโs a shitty situation to be in
Was in the same boat a little over a year ago, left a terrible job at a toxic work environment (employer's name rhymed with BloStar) with nothing lined up. It took me 4 months of searching, but I'm now infinitely happier, have much greater flexibility, better pay, more engagement, yadda yadda. Not everyone can afford to go without a paycheck for 4 months, so YMMV. If I had to do it over, I would have put more effort into jobhunting while at my previous employer, but I just didn't have the emotional energy.

May be tempted into checking this out on Friday. Shame there's no outdoor space at all, that would strike it off my list of places to get a beer when the weather is nice.
Also, Ross Catrow's daily email pointed out something very valid... there will probably be a lot of people walking from Hardywood to this place and back given their proximity, but there isn't much in the way of pedestrian accessibility/safety between those locations which is a little concerning.

If I make it to 98, no way in hell am I ever dressing up for anyone. Tshirts and sweatpants (and probably a diaper) for me please.
