If you are interested in ortholinear, Drop just got the Planck rev. 7 in and it's on sale right now for $99. You'd still need switches and keycaps but it's hotswap and QMK ready and even comes with encoder support.

I saw a comment like 2 years ago that basically srated thay the Pain27 is sort of a half meme but also have demo piece on how powerful QMK can be. Its basically "How far can we go?"
I think they are fun in concept but reading these last few posts, some people seem to actually use them as a daily driver.
I personally dig the 40% Club and like seeing what people do with small form factors but for me personally, at least, small boards really only start to excel once you enter the split, column stagger space. I do still like seeing all the smaller boards like QAZes and such though. They are cute lol.

I test drove it on my Sweep at work today and so far the biggest hickup is my layer hold thumb keys are swapped so I kept hitting my num layer when I menat to hit my first symbol layer. Gonna keep testing over the weekend and see what might need moved around. Its my first time moving away from Miryoku in over a year so its gonna be a trip lol.

I hate how actually functional this seems. It looks pretty similar to the default keymap for the Sweep since you layer switch with homerows. I've been spoiled with 6 layers over the last year and recently started working on 4 layers and its been... a journey this week.

If you can be in and out at only $10, more power to ya. I am currently waiting on $100 worth of just PCBs to arrive from China.

I really don't either. I just see them posted on here once in a while and think they are neat.

I low key wanna do something like the big chunky Saturn-60 just because it's just so clunky compared to the more modern boards but I've done gone down the 36 key rabbit hole so idk if I will ever resurface to go back to big boards. Thanks for carrying the ridiculously large board torch rofl.

Glad to help. It was my entry into 40% and I used it as my daily driver for a good 2 years. It's a good board to play around with QMK as well.
Keep in mind that there is a bit of an adjustment period when going from row stagger to ortho. I like to tell people that depending on how you touch type, ortho does a good job of pointing out your bad habits. You find out that you probably hit sone keys with the wrong fingers but its nothing a few days of typing practice can't fix.
