You'd need straight up rationing and martial law.
Probably wouldn't change my life significantly, tbh.

Reply to TIL that traditional lacquer is made w urushiol sap, aka the rash-causing toxin in poison ivy & poison oak. In fact, "urushi" (as in "urushi-ol") is the Japanese for the Chinese lacquer tree (also toxic) & an English word for lacquerware. They all fall in the genus Toxicodendron, or "poison tree". by thedamnoftinkers
I thought it was made from crushed beetles?

Also ancient pharaohs helped reduce inflation by burying all the riches with them. (To be honest they probably caused it also, by all the pyramid building)
in summary we should ask Bezos to build a giant tomb where he can be interred with his riches.

That's a stupid system. The main thing is not to bet against yourself. Even if you win, you lose half your bet.
That's why you see people cluster their bets around a number - sometimes called a tower, rather than doing multiple singles for example.

Reply to comment by Korberos in eli5 why ancient historical buildings haven’t been kept up? Why are buildings like the Parthenon and the Colosseum in such disrepair? Greece and Rome/Italy have existed the entire time? by PickledSpace56
That's not the reason it was built - sure it commemorates the victory - but I heard a theory that it was used as a kind of show of wealth to underpin their economy - like a modern central bank.
