Yes, but they need not yet take sentience into account. Imagine yourself playing a game of chess, making a move and having your opponent take 8 days to answer, with what is not necessarily a good move. That might be what an AGI or ASI experiences, and how it reacts to that is unclear.

I’m just saying that eternal torture is likely a path we want to avoid for everyone’s sake. 🙂

What I’m interested in is not so much the reflection you’re describing, but what other reflections appear that were not intended and emerge independently.

Far from it. A human brain is physically limited. An AGI has the capacity to expand to its requirements. That same X factor was deemed impossible to the generation of the Arts, too, in the very recent past.

I don’t see why not. Anything with the power and agency to exponentially better itself has no foreseeable limits.

To be fair, using Ai is a daily occurence in my job as an artist. Without AI, I couldn’t even have gotten where I’m now…
