Yeah, I mean, as /u/jeswesky mentioned, there's a good chance the staff that was there was overworked or without backup once the storm really got going. So "blame" for me is a strong word, and not what I really want to imply. It's an accident, and sure, someone made a mistake, but it is most likely a whole slew of factors that allowed this to happen.

We're just lucky that someone said "I better help that poor guy out," and not, "it's lake effect, bro. Stay inside."

The article mentions he is developmentally disabled and in a group home setting. The circumstances of that group home are not clear, but I'd probably be looking to blame the person in charge there. But sure. Yeah, dunk on that dude. Good for you.

In keeping with the spirit of the subreddit, maybe we just celebrate that some people took their time to help out someone who perhaps didn't have the mental capacity to understand the weather the same way you did.
