Idk Avonlea seemed like a pretty developed small town compared to starting out west as homesteaders. I think they’re similar heroines.

When I was a kid I read Anne Frank because I had read a diary from a girl in the Bosnian war and they mentioned Anne Frank. I mean obviously I would have read it eventually but I read it before we learned about it in school.

I read a book where some siblings had their own made up game they had come up with as kids and played into adulthood and it was central to the plot. I forget what it was, it was something kind of 1920’s Gatsby style.
