Just Googled rockley photonics and it seems they went bust :(. Hopefully the tech is already out here and someone will continue to develop it

BP works in other regions now, but initially it was those two and it took like a year to expand and only to a few countries.

And after watch 4 I would not be surprised if it only works in the US and south Korea with no intention of ever expanding... I'm still waiting for Samsung to activate BP on my watch 4

We really should't get too hand up on this. Street trees apply almost anywhere. And green roofs are fine but just the trees outside to cover the asphalt is already a massive improvement. Trees and some green roofs where possible is totally doable and a massive improvement. Looking for a perfect solution is a great way to do nothing

I think they tried. But they have to deal with solar panels and some antennas that also reflect a lot of light and can't be painted. Also in space you have very limited cooling so making too much of your satellite black is not a good idea.

Yeah, im not sure it makes that much sense anymo. What I meant is that is a lot more technically feasible, even if impractical. I guess it's gonna be tested and then never used again. Btw, very good writeup!

Yeah, but solar panels and launches are getting cheap enough that it's not that much of an issue anymore. The big question now it's on the transmission and how well that works out. I really want to see this happening, it could be revolutionary

As far as I understand life expectancy, because they haven't died yet they don't count towards the number. This is just people who already died early. They guys currently sick will decrease the [area counted] life expectancy once/if they die early. (Who knows maybe they will be cured some how, maybe immortality will be discovered in their life time!)
