Yep. And the MBTA is irredeemable. Mass transit will only start failing more and more and certainly won't be built out to areas where housing is more affordable. In fact, the new law reinforces that by demanding high density housing in areas "served," by the MBTA, only those areas will receive resources to keep the system running (and I use that word loosely.)

In reality, the requirement to pray towards Mecca is actually fairly reasonable here. It is only required that you pray towards the planet as best you can Prayer and fasting times are based on the departing time zone on earth. Pretty practical.

Uhhh....it wasn't just GOP governors who fucked up the MBTA. It was decades of politicians simply refusing to invest in the MBTA, and decades of them using it as a way to funnel money to big donors in the form of contracts and consultantancies.

Plenty of blame to go around...

Exactly. How is more people riding the solution here? This also reeks of the "Olympic solution," they floated a few years back. "If we hold the Olympics, the MBTA will be forced to get better."

These people are sociopaths.

Also, I assure you, every single one of them drives to work.

So, this would be a better idea if the MBTA actually provided usable service. They don't. Service gets worse every year. And nobody has a plan, or even any inclination to fix it.

This is literally gaslighting. Gonna really suck if they build out super dense units and everyone still has to use a car to get anywhere.

It is amazing how much the Colombian Exchange impacted global diets.

Tomatoes are from the New World. Before that, there were no tomatoes in Europe.

Imagine Italian food without tomatoes. Indian food with no chile peppers. Potatoes alone kept Ireland running for decades. Until they didn't.
