I mean, what self-respecting CPA would ever want H&R Block on their resume? Can you really blame them for such a poor talent pool?
I think that if your taxes are easy and you're on a budget, just get TurboTax and do it yourself. Simple taxes are really a lot easier than you think and since you're a amateur, worst case scenario, the IRS sends you a notice correcting what you did.
If you have a small business and feel like TurboTax would be out of the question, just go with a real CPA firm.

Could this maybe imply that other ancient civilizations were as advanced as Ancient Egypt, but we just give more credit to Egypt because it was so much better preserved?

I think that this is explained by the fact that over millions of years of evolution, we evolved for the current environment that we're in right now. We're best adapted for the global conditions that we're seeing at the moment. If we change the planet, it might be better suitable for another hypothetical human race that might evolve millions of years from now, but for us, its just not appropriate.

I was not under any misconception. You seem to have not learned about this historic fact. You might need to take some courses on feudalism.

Then they're not getting protection. My point is that the "protection" that they offer is coming from themselves. And the king or lord has no claims to the peasants food without giving them something in return.

Its funny how lords and kings basically had the one pragmatic purpose for peasants: to "protect" them. But really, the lords and kings just conscripted peasants to fight their wars anyway.
