It was for my grandparents. Old people top the charts for participation in elections in the USA every single year.

Also old people vote (demographically speaking) and due to the way the electoral college works their vote almost certainly counts more in FL than it did in the state they came from, which is another incentive to become a FL citizen.

The real question is “do you think energy stocks always go up during periods of high inflation” and I think the answer is no. Energy prices go up due to inflation, but in theory, so should the cost to extract/refine.

Those stocks are up because the companies are posting record profits, not because they’re a hedge against inflation.

American trash is often shipped to other countries on large boats. Unless you expect everything to go perfectly 100% if the time, then some % of what you throw in the trash ends up in the ocean.

Also if I buy a bottle of coke every day, and throw it in the ocean….but one day decide to switch to Pepsi, did come just get more eco friendly? Did Pepsi just get less eco friendly?
According to this chart, the answers are yes and yes, but obviously that’s not correct… right?

They're taking advantage of their market dominance, but it's certainly a risky play that has lost them tons of goodwill.
