And yet, this happens. Hundreds of times a week, it seems*, someone is shot in Pennsylvania by a handgun. Usually, it is a handgun.
What do you think should be done about it?
* according to the CDC, about 1,600+ a year are murdered and 3,000+ are wounded. That includes suicide.

That's kind of where the restriction of availability comes into play. We have simply too many guns floating around and, as u/Complete-Matter-3130, it was purchased legally somewhere along the chain.
The looseness of firearms is an argument for gun registration and stricter transaction laws.

Philosophically, I support the second amendment. Practically, we need to put serious rules in place to allow it exist in a modern, urban environment. I’m talking extensive, mandatory training, with regular re-training; mental health evaluations; and a strict control over the types of firearms available.
For the last bit, I’d be against assault rifle bans and for a ban on handguns

I really don't mind paying taxes, but the administration of taxes is inherently punitive. The fact that there is a multi-billion dollar tax prep industry is insane.

Come to Jenkintown!
Tuesday nights in the summer are good. Grab an early dinner at Newbolds, visit the Night Market at the Town Square (where you can usually grab some beers from Human Robot) and hang out for a local band to play on the square.

We need to pump the numbers on Human Robot. I want them to succeed for purely selfish reasons regarding their Czech lagers.

That's the plan. I've been around long enough to see too many nice places here wither and die because they were secrets too well kept.

Yeah, I dunno about that. Little gatekeepery to throw at me before I've had an acceptable amount of coffee on a Monday.

Now I miss Mark the Shark, RIP.
My older brother listened to DeBella religiously on MMR, and I remember him because he did interstitial segments on Ch. 29 between cartoons. I do remember listening to the Zoo and Mark talking about how he defrosted his windows with hot water, while DeBella listened incredulously.
Then one day, he didn't make it in because he shattered his windshield. I don't know why that has stuck with me since, what, 1987?

As a Jenkintownian, I'd just like to say that she's from Rydal, which is Abington Township. We of the borough are remarkably less murderous. Rydal just happens to share the zip code.

IIRC, in Michael Capuzzo's Murder Room (non-fiction about the Vidocq Society based in Philly), he ends the book with Society members going to interview a suspect in Marshall's Creek, PA (near Stroudsburg). Its been a while, but the suspect was either the (then young) man who set animal traps near where the body was found or the man who found the body.
It is weird to think, but that whole area around Verree Road was just woods then (still plenty of woods with Pennypack park), and I get a chill thinking about the Boy any time I'm in the area.

I remember going to the Kiddie City in the Northeast. I would have dreams of that place when I was a kid.
