It can already convince the brain so throughly of what is being seen, that people are given vertigo….Others get motion sickness from being on a ship at sea.

The visual part of the game is solved, the problem you are struggling to grasp is that VR as just a headset cannot go much farther.

What is needed now is the rest of it, the ability to touch, feel, and move freely in the VR space.

These techs are being developed, but are extremely expensive.

The least of which would be the Omni One treadmill, supposed to happened sometime next year.

As someone who as worked on the first VR headsets….I agree that Meta made a really bad choice, when there are already so many headsets out there.

Also the second life style gimmick only works for a bit.

What really has to happen is more immersive and in-place running.

It will def survive, but it’s already been dwindling with every new generation.

It will probably take another 100+ years to get rid of it entirely, but it’s been very clearly on its way out for the last couple of generations.

This is one of those things….That is not OK for AI to do for you.

You are supposed to interact and be with your children…The bedtime story would be useless if it was told by anyone other than the parent.

It’s a form of binding and it’s a very intimate one.

Technology is only bad when it comes between the human connection.

It’s totally there, it’s just not fully realized yet; as in commercially.

There are clothes that have chips in there, there are toasters too, but they aren’t cheap yet.

We just made new chips that use plastic instead of metal, and it will make it so ANYTHING/EVERYTHING can now have a chip.

The real problem is that there are so many nay sayers or people that are afraid of tech, so the need isn’t as high.

I don’t…Instead, I see humanity evolving past the need to procreate or have “romantic” relationships.

We will still have friends and such, but the idea of a romantic relationship will be considered archaic.

As someone in the automation world (just. It deep fryers), I concur that this is overly complicated for no reason.

I have also worked in many fast food restaurants and the fryer is always in the worst place, even if this robot were meant to “fit into already existing kitchens” it would block off the entire kitchen and be a total hazard.

You would resident the kitchen no matter what, it might save on costs of a new fryer, but that’s about it.
