I'm sure they've read those papers too, you know.

The 'over' in over-exaggeration is redundant.

The first question to ask when learning about a project that uses crypto/block chain is 'can we achieve the same thing but without crypto/block chain?'
I haven't seen a case where the he answer isn't yes

This is the approach I have, and it keeps telling me I'm it's friend and it doesn't want me to leave.

There are a lot of very good technical reasons why it can't become skynet.

You said it yourself - Microsoft is FAR from incompetent. This whole Sydney thing is an easter egg/marketing ploy. Look how much press it's getting - FAR more than if it was just a cool new search engine. I bet the waiting list is growing off the chain right now.

It's uncharted territory, so I can't say for sure. I was just pointing out that it's not currently like that, which gives me hope for the future.

The assumption you're making here is more appropriate to a world where we only have a few AIs, all run by either the gov or big tech. This won't be the case. Stability AI is creating all sorts of AI systems, and they are all completely open source. Emad Mostaque's (CEO) interview with Peter Diamandis is 100% worth checking out to find out more on that.
In short - we'll have all sorts of AI with vastly different filters/controls run by all sorts of companies/charities/organizations.
