Actually, the .gov.uk website design principles are really highly regarded.

I also hope I'm wrong. A task != any task though. The level of dexterity and movement required is difficult. I'm thinking more from a hardware than a software perspective.

Depends *which* blue-collar jobs. I can see a lot of factory work continuing to be automated, but things like plumbing, electrical installations, tiling etc require a lot of dexterity and the ability to work in awkward spaces. I don't think they are unsolvable problems by any stretch, but I could see it taking up to a decade.

I agree with this, which is a real shame. I'll read it anyway, I've been waiting for it for more than 15 years.
He HAS definitely finished it though - Neil De Grasse Tyson has read it (kurzweil was on his podcast around Xmas, and they talk about it)

Exactly this. 10x the ability of GPT-4 may not be AGI, but to anyone but the most astute observer there will be no practical difference.

You don't need a model, you just need 'someone'. Or a dummy.

Seems like there's a very generous free tier, then super cheap after that.

Yeah, the same thing happened with that internet thing that everyone was banging on about in the late 90s. I wonder what happened to that...

Well no, it doesn't work like that. There may be hundreds of trillions of humans born in the future, in which case you could say isn't it more likely you would be born then. You were born when you were born, there is no special significance to the time - it just had to happen at some point to be able to have this conversation.
