No, you unlikely to get a frostbite/hypothermia from laying on ice for a few minutes. But you are if you would fell into ice cold water.

He got lucky, but this was a risk nonetheless.

Like salt. Even the usual one, NaCl, dissolved in water and electrolyzed, dissipates to NaOH, NaOCl, HCl, H2 and Cl2. HCl, H2 and Cl2 are gaseous, so they bubble out, but NaOH (lye) and NaOCl (bleach) stays in solution.

And that's just one example, there's multitude of other chemicals that's produced by electrolysis, potentially making water toxic.

Half of ex-soviet block countries are currently in NATO and most of them, except only Belarus, practically hates Russia. Even countries that was sided with it before, like Kazakhstan or Armenia, currently distance themselves away. Even though in Kazakhstan it's autocracy pretty much like in Belarus. There's no profits in siding with Russia or in her winning the war, and besides, Russia already shown it's strength, or lack of it to be precise, and no one wants to be with loser.

And, btw, I'm from Russia (sadly). And though I've left the country, I know relatively well what's happening and where it's going.

Could be, but not currently nor in near future. If/when QC would be able to solve a whole lot of complex integrals (big if), this potentially could allow us to simulate different quantum equations and construct and check different universe models, which, if proven valid, could lead to some theory of everything, which then could lead to exploration of some weird physics that allows for FTL or at least near light speed travels.

But, as you can see, there's a whole lot of ifs, each one bigger than other.
