In terms of the monkeys paw, this guy won a national championship for Purdue the same day that their men’s basketball team, the top ranked team in the country, get beat in the championship tournament by the lowest ranked team who only made in it due to a technicality.
So the monkeys paw was all the fans of Purdue wishing for a national championship. They got it, in wrestling, but the cost was their basketball team suffering the biggest upset in tournament history

I love the part where they say the committee is focused on “understanding what ESG is and how to prevent it from being used in Louisiana”.
So in 1 sentence they said their goal is to ban something they don’t understand.

This is good for several things. Iirc there have been studies showing memory loss as a long term side effect of Covid so this therapy could prove incredibly valuable long term

Yeah well unless the UK people have 7.5 billion to offer instead of the saudis, I’m not sure the owner (an American) cares what the UK will want sadly

There isn’t a “big push” politically because it is already happening. The military long ago realized the benefit of a green military and has been working towards that. Publicly calling for them to do it would result in any politician getting laughed at when they are shown that it’s already happening.

I’d recommend you look into the military and see that they’ve already been doing a lot of that. They’ve been moving away from fossil fuels for years now. Just because you don’t see a member of congress talking about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. US military reliance on fossil fuels has been dropping for years already.

Yup. 4K TVs are easy to get and common now. So they need to push something else to justify prices in the several thousand dollar range and up.
They know there isn’t content for the last Gen but they don’t care. Their job is to get people to buy the next Gen technology. It’s up to others to create the content for the technology

That’s probably why that Kansas team went 0-12 that season. Couldn’t tackle worth a damn

Can you imagine him in todays wildcat offense? He’d get absolutely destroyed since he’s 100 years old and that’s way too old to play football

Not just profit, but reach a large enough user base where the data has value. Super small user bases like those using this don’t have too much value. Millions of people using it and the data becomes much more valuable.
And for anyone wondering what this could be used for: they could track if you’re paying attention to something on screen such as in game ads to gather a value for those ads

Depends. If they host it in Mexico City, they can effectively use the army to keep the cartels away.
If the games are spread around around the nation, then they are fucked. The cartel’s effectively run large portions of the country
