You can rent a car under 25- you just pay more in insurance.

A coastal drive with a picnic in the car parked somewhere scenic would be an ideal date. For me, anyway.

Yes, it’s a thing. And yes, it’s really $3.
I used to live in a state where you can get any kind of alcohol at grocery stores, gas stations, etc and Aldi had a great selection of wine.

I moved to CT from a state where we had increased registration fees and no property tax on cars. The combination of my taxes and registration fees is way more here than it was in my prior state. And I drive a 2013 sedan. I’m not driving anything new and fancy where I’d owe thousands in car tax.

Reply to Apologies for yet another thread on the new electricity rates coming our way, but for anyone who has yet to switch away from Eversource, I just did it and it took all of two minutes and will save my wife and I tons of money by mikemikemikeandike
How do you switch? I have no clue how to do it and don’t have the bandwidth to both research how to switch and what my options are.

It’s okay! Don’t stress out too much. Is this your first semester? If yes, really don’t stress out and just commit to doing better for the next three semesters. In either case, you can address a semester of bad grades in your transfer application.
Edit: Are you in touch with academic support services at your school? If not, get in touch now.

Reply to Politicians in CT saying ending child homelessness in CT but i’ve never once seen one? by dgtexan14
Just because we don’t see children living in homelessness doesn’t mean they don’t exist. There are definitely children in shelters, bouncing between homes of family members, and likely even kids living on the street.
I would get in touch with any women’s shelters that are local to you because they often take in women with children. You could also call food pantries and other non-profits supporting people facing homelessness. Just let them know you are specifically interested in supporting their efforts to help kids. But like, make sure to do it in a way that doesn’t sound predatory.
You could also reach out to schools and ask about donating money or supplies for kids whose families aren’t able to provide them.

This post sounds to me like someone who may not have the money to drive a newer car, given that they want to stay under $6k. They know they’re getting what they pay for. It’s nice to be able to afford something with extras and low miles but that isn’t everyone’s reality.
