I’m not sure about people being any hornier now than they were a year or two ago. People also bought a lot of clothing during the pandemic to make themselves feel better, so the return to normal might not mean anything.
One argument you could make is all the Onlyfans girls need to base their “content” off of something and many have wishlists for things like lingerie, so effectively this is the first time in history that horny single men are buying a substantial amount of lingerie.

Sort of like an MPX 2.0. This would make sense if they can't just keep scaling the whole SOC up. GPU is the thing you always need more of in video editing... not so much with RAM and CPU past a certain point.
At this point they just need to announce the thing... the natives are getting restless. Although the loudest group seem to be people who essentially want a slotbox they can stick PC parts in... and run Windows. I'm sure they're in for a fun time.

Reply to Just finished season 1 of True Detective, would like some more stuff exactly like that please. by Mally_Mac
I think while there are plenty of good shows, there’s nothing exactly like True Detective S1. It nails the tone it’s going after so well. The casting and the writing was so perfect.
On a related note, has anyone else noticed that every show after TD basically copied the intro’s animation style?

Reply to comment by marintrails in Did pirated music help the iPod become popular? by EglinAirBaseIntern
Yes they were massively greedy and got punished for it once file sharing came along.
I remember I bought a Prodigy CD which is fittingly called ‘The Fat of the Land’ some time around ‘99 or 2000. For some reason I never took the price sticker off, so I remember it costing £19.99! That’s fucking mental. The minimum wage at the time was £3.60.

F for everyone who didn't pirate music and instead built vast iTunes libraries costing thousands only for streaming to come along a few years later.
I mean they did support the artists by doing this, but it just feels like the music industry had its fun getting people to buy the same album again and again every time a new format came along.
As other people have mentioned though, CD ripping was a huge thing and was built into iTunes, so you could easily fill an iPod with music you had technically paid for.
I personally went through phases of all-out Limewire piracy, CD buying and legit digital purchases. It was just kind of messy and as a young person I couldn't afford to buy every song I wanted to listen to. Streaming definitely came around and tidied the whole thing up.

What suggestion do you have for doing this apart from demanding technology that didn't exist at the time?

Reply to How Bright is Space from Low Earth Orbit? by ConfidentLo
It will depend on which side of the planet you are on in terms of day or night. During the day side the glare from the sun is just as intense as on earth and the reflected light off of earth is so bright that your eyes won’t be able to ‘expose’ the fainter stars. Whereas on the shadowed (or night) side you will likely be able to see a vast blanket of stars that are difficult to see on the surface of earth due to cloud and/or light pollution.

Reply to Covid vaccine doses go to waste in Switzerland amid huge stockpile by aaaronbrown
Lots of rich countries over-ordered or ordered multiple vaccines incase a certain one fell out of favour.
Most people probably have had 3 doses and a couple of covid infections by now, so aren't as worried as at the start. It's also common for a booster to knock you out for a day or so after, so even if they're on offer you might just want to avoid that and accept the risk of a covid infection later on (which may happen anyway).
In the UK people under 75 (or at extreme risk for health reasons) simply aren't offered boosters anymore, so its just the way things are going.
