I had heard years ago that the semi frequent non weather related outages are due to that substation being in desperate need of upgrade by nearby residents are blocking it.

When I lived in Parsippany I think the only outage I ever experienced was about 10 min during the height of Sandy. But since moving here I have had several outages a year consistently.

Increases suck, but that's less then inflation. I wouldn't expect improvements with that increase.

Yeah it still sucks, but that seems like a normal year to year increase. Not the horror stories people are seeing elsewhere.

IDK why you are getting downvotes on this. Look I want to support public transit but for family trips taking NJ Transit train all the way makes no sense.

That said I will try to avoid driving into Manhattan if I can. My go to is to park at Secaucus junction, I think that's usually about 25 bucks. Then to just take the train from Secaucus is only a couple bucks each. So even with gas the Turnpike toll its significantly cheaper and faster then taking the train from our local station.

Even our relatives who live by stations that are only a few stops from Penn it usually faster and cheaper then just 2 train tickets.

I agree if you are commuting to nyc, philly city center mass transit is the way to go.

But as much as I love trains NJ Transit suuuuuucks. Unless you are the first few stops on the line usually the commuter bus lines are faster; often significantly.

I'm out in Morris county, less then 45 min into Manhattan without traffic. Train is over 90 minutes. Usually the independent bus line, even with tunnel traffic, is significantly less. Worst case scenario if there is really really bad traffic its 90 min, basically the same as the train if it has no delays.

What doesn't quite add up for me is he was so clumsy as to be searching google for how to dispose of a body; yet they can't find her.

I would think someone that dumb wouldn't do that good of job actually disposing of her.

I would just count yourself lucky its not a required court appearance. Fines suck and like everything else are just getting more expensive. My last speeding ticket from 3 years ago cost me over 200 so I'm not surprised a misdemeanor is at least 400.

I would take it as a lesson learned that Jersey Shore towns do not F around with minor offenses. A lot of towns are a bit heavy handed in the interest of trying to keep it family friendly. Just cause you see coolers on every other blanket doesn't mean you won't be the poor SOB who gets a ticket when they go around checking.

I would just pay it.

There are open container laws in most jurisdictions to my knowledge.

The only 2 places I'm aware of that allow open containers in popular tourist spots are New Orleans and Vegas. I'm sure there may be more but the point is its not common.

It seems like you defense is not that you didn't know that was against the law but that you didn't think it was a law that was enforced.

I'm not judging I'm just saying I can't picture that defense getting you very far and you'll just pay court costs on top of the ticket.
