There’s one particular group that purposely backfires their ATVs and it can sound like gunfire. I think that’s what this person was suggesting.

I’ve never heard about this issue of many shelters closing on weekends before and it is very surprising to me, I would have expected it to be a larger topic of conversation given how many issues this must cause. Where can I read more about this?

To be clear, they may in the future bring back ATC (automated train control), but the trains will still be operated by a person. ATC is more about the signalling mechanisms, and was actually in operation on metro from when it opened in the 70s until 2009 when the crash happened partly due to a fault in ATC. Drivers on metro won’t be going anywhere for a long time yet.

To be fair, i take the metro a lot and it’s not the majority who skip the gates. It’s mainly kids and homeless people.

I know a guy who earns 120k a year and skips the metro gate. If it’s gonna be means tested it can’t be an honesty system.

I’d fully believe gunshots, but also I lived next to a place where the ATV asshats used to love to ride, and you could hear it for 5 mins before and 5 mins after they went past.
