Not really. There are so many exceptions to 24 weeks to make it mostly meaningless.

Oh. I got you now. Here’s the thing. Driving is actually a pretty safe endeavor. And it’s extremely safe if you wear a seat belt, don’t speed, don’t drive drunk and don’t drive with your phone in your hand. It’s safer than walking! Check this out

I Don’t care to argue those points. Let’s say they’re all true. At least in those cases you’ll get to face your accuser. When you get a ticket from a computer they don’t even know who was driving.

I wrote to his office and my state senate and house reps and told while I’ll never vote for the fascist party I may very well become a single issue voter in Dem primaries for defenders of civil liberties if this garbage continues.

Ah! Your sense of risk is all out of whack. Compared to the number of miles we drive, driving is quite safe and like I said, until very recently, it was getting less deadly every year. Take a look at these charts.

Yup. Lamont, who I like, said as much. He wants them everywhere. He actually said - we’ll be able to keep an eye on you. It’s just horrible for civil liberties and govt surveillance.

This is the stupid. We spent billions every year on traffic safety and safer cars. Up until the last couple years the number of fatalities per capita per year was almost always going down.

Besides being unconstitutional IMO, it’s another in a long line of civil liberty violations. And if they make it a civil infraction only then it’s just another in a long line of regressive taxation. Finally, getting a fine, weeks after an infraction does nothing to solve the problem it purports to solve.

This sucks. It’s only the beginning. Really disappointed with Lamont on this one. His comments in the story - about always having an eye on us- are gross.

This is what the google machine spits out -
(a) A person is guilty of breach of the peace in the second degree when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, such person: (1) Engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior in a public place; or (2) assaults or strikes another; or (3) threatens to commit any crime against another person or such other person's property; or (4) publicly exhibits, distributes, posts up or advertises any offensive, indecent or abusive matter concerning any person; or (5) in a public place, uses abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture; or (6) creates a public and hazardous or physically offensive condition by any act which such person is not licensed or privileged to do. For purposes of this section, "public place" means any area that is used or held out for use by the public whether owned or operated by public or private interests.
(b) Breach of the peace in the second degree is a class B misdemeanor.
Maybe that’s why the cops used “throw” a brick - to conjure the idea that he exhibited a tumultuous or threatening behavior. But I know very little.

Putting a brick and a note in a plastic bag and tossing it on the lawn after being denied entrance at the gate isn’t exactly throwing a brick at ESPN HQ. The guy was diagnosed bipolar a while back. He needs mental health care more than he needs a charge. That may be the only way he gets it, IDK.
