They mentioned krill populations collapsing which would starve filter feeders like baleen whales. Climate change has a lot of implications that we're still nailing down. Changes in acidity, salinity, sea temps and a whole bunch of other things might cause a food chain to break down. If phytoplankton populations also start dyeing it'll be bad.

The two degrees is a global average. It's not going to be evenly distributed. Local temps have the potential to be much higher.

The problem is bonds are used as a hedge when the other markets turn to shit. They're a lot less valuable when inflation is high.

They have low interest rates but since governments, especially the US government (as long as the debt ceiling fuckery gets resolved), are very reliable debtors so there's almost no risk in getting paid back. Because the interest is a set amount over time; if you want to liquidate them quickly you'd need to sell them lower than whatever the remaining interest is. Profit margins are razor thin at the best of times.

Right now high inflation means the bond markets are crappy in general. So the SVB bonds were sold at a steep loss.

Even if he had an active license he couldn't give anyone Xanax. He has a PhD; not an MD. He can't prescribe medication. I guess it's possible the studio has a physician on call but if they do that physician needs their license revoked.

Benzos are used to treat alcohol withdrawal because they've got a similar mechanism of action. It's also why mixing benzos and alcohol is fucking dangerous. On their own deaths from ODs are very rare. If you mix them it becomes a lot more likely.

Selling a bird for less than a few thousand is definitely not worth it. You don't want to fuck with wild birds in the US. The Migratory Bird Treaty Act is one of the oldest federal conservation laws in the US and it's pretty brutal. Just picking up a feather off the ground can lead to fines. They probably won't go after you unless it's something especially egregious like a bald eagle feather. But selling an owl caught in the US without a permit is definitely enough to get the attention of the Feds.
