Here's my issue with that... who the fuck cares? The right wing in the US at this point is not living in reality. They have no rational thought or reason. They're gonna demonize people regardless, so who gives a fuck what they say or do? They demonize a candy company for making their candy less fuckable, I don't really care what they think about protestors or much anything else beyond how to keep them from murdering people who don't agree with them.

It's one of the reasons western countries haven't been sending things like F-16s and F-15s. Ukrainian pilots are already familiar with the MIG-29, SU-24, SU-25, and SU-27. Giving them entirely new planes wasn't all that useful because they'd have to train pilots from scratch on them. But these are perfect because no training is necessary.

I welcome correction if I'm wrong here, but my understanding is that Omicron isn't actually milder. It's milder than Delta was, but it's about the same as the original strain. It seems so much milder because people are vaccinated now, have had it already, or died from it in one of the earlier waves if they were especially susceptible. For those who aren't vaccinated, catching omicron is about as dangerous as the original wave.

This deserves repeating because people seem to have real difficulty grasping the concept. The UN is not a world government, it's not a police force, it's not an army. It's a diplomatic forum for discussion to prevent another world war. The UN isn't an exclusive club that people get kicked out of, it's a conference room where countries can talk.

I'm referring to intelligence and reasoning. Humans have not biologically evolved in any significant way in tens or hundreds of thousands of years. We've advanced through passing down and building on previous knowledge, which requires education. If you're uneducated, you are very literally no smarter than a medieval peasant. We didn't get biologically smarter, we iterated on knowledge that the people who came before us learned, and then we pass down what we learn. If you spent science class dipping your fingers in glue and peeling it off instead of learning cellular biology, you are not particularly functionally different than a medieval serf, simply acting on emotion and lashing out at everything you don't understand. And for the people in this situation, there's a lot they don't understand.

In 2018, 33% of Coloradans voted against outlawing slavery. There are still a startling number of people who are little more than medieval serfs with iphones.

It's a great source of amusement to me to see them, over and over again, be completely willing to throw anybody under the bus to save their own skin while simultaneously believing everyone else just like them is trustworthy and will stay loyal. Every one of them would give up anybody they know, even their own family, for a day off their potential sentences. Yet they all think that every single other person is stupid enough to keep their mouth shut and take the bullet for them. Every one thinks that all the others are suckers, and that they're the smart one. A bunch of idiots all thinking the others are the idiots and all just continuously conning each other.
