I believe that gold fitting is the pressed in receiver for one of the thru-cabinet bolts that would come in from above. Take a paperclip and unbend it and insert from the bottom there and see if it inserts through until it hits the cabinet.
Also, whats the model number on that particular microwave, search for the install manual online and see what other mount options might exist.

I read 7/8ths of it. Once the time jump happened, it didn't even seem like the same book and I couldn't get invested in why I should care about that act of the story considering how few pages were left in the book. I just kind of set it down and never picked it back up.
