I don’t think anything will be able to be as cost efficient as “Hey I found this liquid that burns real fast”, but it would be better for so many reasons. Having reliable energy created, not relying on shipments from other countries, less transport fees, environmental advantages, etc. Using nuclear fusion as a power source would be more beneficial than just the cost to produce.

I understand corporations not wanting to invest, but we should have more govt projects working on advancements, as this will reduce foreign reliance.

True, but we could also reduce the stress on any given institution by reducing the amount of people being arrested for such crimes as marajuana possession. I agree that there are lots of people that are in institutions that have done awful things, hell my local Juvenile Hall is so full of violent offenders for gang related activity that they don’t even lock up children unless it’s really bad, but making meaningful changes like what I stated before would reduce the overall Guard:Inmate ratio throughout providing your facility with the necessary staffing, as other locations can spare excess guards. It wouldn’t be a quick process, but would serve to provide several positive outcomes.

Sounds like we might be sending too many people to jail/prison and should look into fixing the problems that are causing that. One thing that might help, is legalizing marajuana federally. No state should be able to make it illegal within their borders (of course age restrictions for purchase). That should reduce the staffing problem by reducing the people needing supervised. Maybe we can convert an old jail/prison that no longer needs to house prisoners into a place where the homeless population can go to be rehabilitated and sent back into society, further reducing arrests.
