I think we’re in agreement that the cautionary story in Wall-e is about sustainability rather than AI.

I suggest there is confusion about the Y-axis. Is it the theme of “the story in relation to AI” or “the story as a whole”. Both approaches are interesting though. Such as here where you’re able to show that wall-e is an outlier in that its about a good-AI in a cautionary tale (about a different subject).

Once the labels are clear a side-by-side would be also interesting (is wall-e a super outlier? Are there others like this?)

At any rate; thanks for the thoughtful diagram.

Is the sentiment / alignment in your plot about the theme of the movie as a whole rather than the role AI plays in the plot?

For example in Wall-e is AI itself ever a problem? I think of it more of a story about sustainability and what people focus on. AI is just a form of character with mostly positive associations.

I was hoping that wearables (like a watch) could do this for me. Or at least force development in that direction.

(Seems to not be panning out… but i still have hope. I’d love to only carry a watch for most of my day. Initially I’d go through screen withdrawal but in the long run I think life would be better).

I agree. This is how it will happen.

We’ll see if first in famous reality tv folks. Someday soon an influencer or Hollywood star will have enough on video of themselves, and money, that somebody will try it “for” or “on” them (depending on the contract).

I think it’ll take substantial 24/7 logs to create anything better than an “uncanny valley” version of somebody. Which is why it’ll start w actors and famous folks people want to see in more roles or “meet”.

One of the first will be an Elvis AI that manages your Vegas vacation.
