One of my earliest memories is driving back from Magic Mountain in the 1970s with all my brothers and sisters. An RV ahead of us went off the road and hit a telephone pole. It was like 10pm aid there were sparks flying all over the place, it was nuts.

There’s lots of great VR development happening outside of META, this is the equivalent of shopping malls dying while the economy is chugging along. People don’t need your sanitized, monetized, antiseptic version of the future to have fun.

Honestly I was expecting the two Viking Landers, curiosity and the rest to all jump out from behind some hills and yell SURPRIISE!!!!

They’d throw Mars dust confetti at dancing dust devil strippers and serve mars ice cocktails. The party started out fun but grew awkward and ended early when the Viking landers tried to blame each other for not calling for the last 40 years.

I used to work in secondary marketing in the 1990s, we’d assess and bundle mortgages and resell them to other institutions. This was immediately after the Savings & Loan meltdown so we’d get packages from places like Silverado Savings which had been taken over and liquidated by the government body RTC. I learned a lot, like the importance of time of day of a transaction, and it’s insane effect on profits. It was a very strange business and an odd introduction to the world of finance. Most of what I did (due diligence) is now either performed by computer or more likely not performed at all.
