Reply to comment by Dispatches547 in Bars where you can bring and play a board game? by one-who-bends
I actually think booth-side at trinity is pretty quiet and would be ideal for board games most nights.

Reply to How bikeable is New Haven? by Eeeks25
While it’s very bikeable and things are close, as others have noted, the drivers in the state in general are awful and dangerous. Also bike theft is very common. They tend to strip seats and tires too so keep it locked up tight.

Edge of the woods, go up the stairs for all the spices you’d need.

Thanks for bringing this up. I used to go to Miyas all the time, lots of the rolls were hit and miss. I was obsessed with the vegetarian squid roll in my. Vegetarian days. Some of the potato wrapped creamy dill rolls were a bit heavy for me. Still, Bun seemed like a really talented chef and an interesting, friendly guy. I spent a few nights after hours drinking fireball sake with him. But wage theft is absolutely unforgivable. We should stand in solidarity with workers and recognize that so many of these small local businesses we often fetishize are some of the worst perpetrators of wage theft. employee abuse, harassment, and mismanagement.

Reply to Restaurant open on New Year’s Day for lunch with an old lady and a toddler? by craigalanche
It’s worth noting that Mamouns - Falafel, kebabs, hummus - is open 365 days of the year. It’s a good spot if you like Middle Eastern, they do it well and it’s a good casual sit down place for lunch.

Sadly not many real sports bars in New Haven. Trinity is a good place to watch sports though.
