Reply to Film taste is largely subjective by 85Millennial
I first started using the film boards on imdb back around 2000, which was over 20 years ago. The same type of people were posting the same kind of "hey Citizen Kane is wayyyy overrated" posts, which were met with the same type of reactionary responses. This will always happen, if you are going to be bold enough to go against the grain, then you have to be bold enough to deflect any harsh comments and keep it moving.

Reply to "City on Fire" and Reservoir Dogs" by OneADayMens
Rip off accusation is a slippery slope, nearly every filmmaker drew inspiration from films they grew up watching and incorporated that into their movies and style.
And it's this sort of accusation nonsense that's probably responsible for there not being the next generation of Oliver Stones, John Woos, or even the next Tarantino.

Reply to Any good historical type movies? Like Mudbound, Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Wolf of wall Street, and The highway Men? by dino_niggets
Based on the movies you mentioned, I'd recommend the True History of the Kelly Gang which is very loosely based on the Australian outlaw Ned Kelly.
